Under the guise of “upgrading service,” Progress Energy plans to install huge monolithic concrete Berry Power Poles through the very center of downtown and one of the most historic waterfront areas in Florida. These high-tension poles, 3’ across and a towering 85’ high, are to be stabbed within feet of numerous historic structures with absolutely no consideration of the aesthetic impact of this truly invaluable area.
